Spitalfields Store
Our newly refurbished store has reopened as Runners Need Spitalfields! Previously known as Liverpool Street, Spitalfields has a long history in the East End as one of our original stores. The store stocks a wide range of shoes and offers video gait analysis* as part of a comprehensive shoe assessment to find the shoe that best suits your running profile.
You'll also find a great range of new season running clothing, training watches, nutrition and accessories from all the core brands, plus a knowledgeable team who are on hand to assist and advise on your training needs.
Come and check out the new store and have a chat with our passionate team about your running!
*So that we can provide the high level of service that we pride ourselves on, a shoe fitting (including gait analysis assessment) will usually take between 15 and 30 minutes.
Please note that there's free parking on Saturdays outside the front (Strype Street) and rear (Bell Lane) of the store.
Meet the Team
Andy Rayner - Manager
- How long have you worked at Runners Need?
- 8 years
- Tell us about yourself
- I am still a competitive runner and enjoy competing for my club Blackheath and Bromley Harriers over x-country, track and road. I am an avid film fan and enjoy going to the cinema and enjoy current affairs. I can often be found locked in conversation with Rob from Camden over the latest political agendas around the globe. I enjoy cooking but prefer going out to a restaurant. I generally enjoy all sport, especially football, rugby, boxing and F1! Not to mention Athletics!
- What are your favourite shoes to run in and why?
- I prefer lightweight training shoes for shorter runs so enjoy the Mizuno Elixirs, Asics DS Trainers and Brooks T7's!
- How often do you go running?
- Every day, sometimes twice!
- Have you taken part in any marathons, challenges or races?
- I usually compete in national championships over all surfaces from 1500m on the track up to half marathon distance on the roads. I can be found taking part in the odd random event for fun and I am the current Hell runner champion from 2010! I also spent 2 years in the USA on an athletics scholarship to compete in NCAA division 1 for Butler University.
- Are you taking part in any events this year?
- I plan to tackle the full marathon at London in 2012 to coincide with the Olympic trials race. In the mean time I am focused on improving my 10k PB and competing over 5000m on the track this summer.
- Do you have any relevant certificates or qualifications?
- I have a BSc in Sports Science (Exercise Physiology).
- What's your favourite music to run to?
- Funky house.
