Kingston upon Thames Store

Runners Need Kingston is the newest Runners Need running store, we're delighted to be serving the large community of runners in Kingston upon Thames and south west London. Formerly Lanson Running, many of our friendly, passionate staff may be familiar to Lanson regulars, either way we will help cater for all your running related needs. So that we can provide the high level of service that we pride ourselves on, a shoe fitting (including a full gait analysis assessment) will usually take between 15 and 30 minutes. So please leave yourself plenty of time for your fitting, especially at the end of the day. We look forward to welcoming into the newest Runners Need Store!

James Greene - Store Manager

How long have you worked at Runners Need?
Since September 2013
Tell us about yourself:
Whether it's watching or taking part, I'm a sports junkie. Rugby, triathlon, athletics and tennis all spark my interest. I have represented Hercules Wimbledon AC on numerous occasions both on thetrack and during the cross country season. I'm not all about sport though; I particularly enjoy cooking and discovering new food recipes. I am also currently grappling with the French language, with some difficulty.
How often do you go running?
I typically run 3 times a week but it does fluctuate!
Have you taken part in any challenges/marathons/races or similar?
I have tried to vary my racing experiences. Having taken part in many track meets and numerous cross country seasons, I have now moved towards road running. I have taken part in the last 3 Cardiff Half Marathons whilst also competing in Nike Run to the Beat 2013, alongside entering the odd 5 and 10k races. I have also competed in an 8k Spartan Sprint in Redhill.
What's your favourite music to run to?
Anything with a beat or guitar riff! Livelier the better.
Are you taking part in any events this year?
I will be running in the Cardiff Half Marathon in October, the Grim Challenge in November and I am also scheduled to tackle Tough Mudder in April 2014.

How long have you worked at Runners Need?
Since September 2013
Tell us about yourself:
I was previously a personal trainer and sports massage therapist and before that I was a lifeguard, so being a running specialist has been a welcome change and has increased my working knowledge in the fitness industry. On a fun related note I am a big film fan, but also like spending my free time with family.
How often do you go running?
At least three times a week.
Tell me about any challenges/marathons/races or similar you've taken part in
I have completed two sprint triathlons, two half marathons, a number of 5k & 10K races and completed my first London Marathon in 2012.
What's your favourite music to run to?
Preferably pop music and or music from a variety of decades including the more acquired taste like...... Eminem!
Are you taking part in any challenges/marathons/races this year?
The plan is to tackle a tough mudder by years end and if I can find someone brave enough to accompany me then possibly a Tough Guy!

Jack Robson - Sales Associate

How long have you worked for Runners Need?
I'm just about to start working for Runners Need but prior to that I worked for Lanson Running for over a year.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm 17 and currently studying an A Level in English Language and a Sport BTEC at Esher College. I live in Molesey with my parents currently. I play a lot of sport including football and tennis as well as running. I am also a good keen skier. My other interests include listening to music and watching movies.
How often do you go running?
Usually once or twice a week to maintain my fitness level for playing other sports.
Have you taken part in any challenges/marathons/races or similar?
I'm not a massively competitive runner but have done the Bushy Park 5k Parkrun a couple of times.
What's your favourite music to run to?
Without a doubt Hip-Hop is my favourite music to run to because of a heavy motivational beat. Eminem being a particularly strong motivator in my running.
Are you taking part in any events this year?
I won't be taking part in any events this year, I prefer to keep it recreational.
