As the seasons change and the evenings darken, we're challenging you to continue getting outdoors and reaching for your goals for the chance to win the ultimate running bundle worth over £500.*

How does it work?

Sign up to the challenge on Strava and log one hour of outdoor activity, either running, walking or in a wheelchair, between 16th - 22nd September. Once you've completed the challenge you’ll receive an email with the chance to enter to win the ultimate autumn/winter running bundle worth over £500.* Whether you complete the challenge in one go, or log multiple shorter sessions, however you choose to get out there and get moving, embrace the Outdoor Hour with Runners Need.  


 
Plus, all challenge finishers will get a code for a free footwear protection service, available at your nearest Runners Need store. Giving your running shoes a boost of protection from the elements to keep them performing for longer.* You’ll also earn an Outdoor Hour digital challenge completion badge.

Runners Need Strava Outdoor Hour Challenge T&Cs

 

The Runners Need Strava Outdoor Hour challenge is for Strava members to complete 1 hour of recorded running, walking or wheelchair activity within the challenge period from 00:01 on 16.09.2023 to 23:59 on 22.09.2023. All completers of the Challenge are given the opportunity to receive the free Footwear Protection treatment in store and to enter themselves into the prize draw.

By entering the Challenge, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms and conditions and all entry instructions form part of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.

Only participants aged 18+ can enter the prize draw. Only 1 entry per person.

Reward Claim Period: Opens at 00:01 on 16.09.2023 and closes at 23:59 on 02.10.2023 BST.  

All activities logged during the Challenge period must be uploaded to Strava no later than three days after the challenge ends.

The prize draw will run from 00:01 on 16.09.2023 and closes at 23:59 on 02.10.2023 BST.

This Challenge starts and ends based on each participant's local time zone. 

GPS, virtual, and manual activities will count towards the Challenge goal. Please refer to the qualifying activities section for details. Challenge progress is determined by an activity's moving time. 

Activities visible to "Everyone", "Only You" or "Followers" are eligible for this Challenge. To respect activity visibility settings, only activities marked as visible to Everyone will be applied toward leaderboard rankings. Manual activities will not count towards your leaderboard ranking. Your followers may see notifications that you've joined or completed this Challenge, but your activities will remain private according to your Privacy Controls. 

 

All entries must be made directly by the person entering the Challenge. Entrants who do not give correct details will be disqualified, at the Promoter’s discretion.

No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter for entries or claims which for technical or other reasons are not entered correctly or are lost. Incomplete entries will not qualify for the Challenge & Prize draw.

We expect all athletes to honour the Strava Community Standards, which includes abiding by all health advisements and restrictions in your area prior to undertaking any physical activity.

Prize eligibility and fulfilment is at the sole discretion of Outdoor & Cycle Concepts Ltd., who may require you to provide certain information to validate your identity in order for you to collect a reward or prize they are offering in connection with your completion of the Challenge.

To the full extent permitted by law and excluding death or personal injury caused as a result of the Promoter’s negligence, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any entrant in connection with the Challenge, including without limitation: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.

T&Cs for free Footwear Protection

All Strava users who complete the Runners Need Outdoor Hour Strava challenge will receive a code to redeem a Free Footwear Protection Service by IMBOX in any Runners Need store. The code will be received in the Challenge Completion email from Strava after the challenge has been completed and logged. The code must be shown to a member of staff in-store to redeem the free treatment.

T&Cs for the prize draw

The free prize draw is to win a running clothing, footwear and accessories bundle worth over £500 RRP, selected by Runners Need.

Only one entry permitted per person.

To enter the prize draw, entrants must complete all necessary details as outlined on the entry form. Entry is only available to individuals who have completed the Runners Need Strava Outdoor Hour challenge. Upon completion of the challenge, participants will receive an email from Strava containing a link to be able to enter the prize draw on the Runners Need website. 

No purchase is necessary or fee payable to enter the prize draw.

The prize draw is only open to residents of the UK and Republic of Ireland.

All entrants must be aged 18 years or over.

The prize draw will run from 00:01 on 16.09.2023 and closes at 23:59 on 02.10.2023 GMT.

Employees, members of their family or other associated persons of Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd., Strava and all other associated partners are not eligible to take part in the prize draw, but are free to participate in the Strava challenge.

By entering the prize draw, the winners acknowledge they may be required to participate in publicity relating to the prize draw. Such publicity may include, without limitation, the entrants name and/or, statements made by the entrants concerning the prize draw and/or prizes and photographs/video taken/created as part of the prize draw.

Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries via an automated computer process.

The first randomly selected entrant will receive the prize. 

The winner will have the choice of a male or female bundle, each worth over £500 RRP. The prize bundle products have been selected by Runners Need and are subject to availability. If product(s) are unavailable, then an alternative product will be selected by Runners Need. The winner will be able to choose between the male and female bundle, and select their preferred colour and size (subject to availability). The shoes can be selected at an in-store Gait Analysis appointment, or selected from available website stock.

Once the prize draw closes the winner will be contacted by Outdoor & Cycle Concepts via the email submitted. If the recipient doesn’t respond within 14 days, we reserve the right to randomly select and award the prize to another winner.

The prize is non-transferable, and no cash or credit alternative will be available for the prize on offer.

Entry into this prize draw will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel or amend the prize draw rules and terms and conditions at any point.

In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the Prize draw, the decision of Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd. shall be final, and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

All personal data processed by Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd. will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act and our privacy policy, which you can view on this website. 

By providing Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd. with your personal data, you consent to Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd. using this information for the purpose of administering the prize draw including providing winners details to participating partners for the purpose of fulfilling prizes. Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd. will only use this data for marketing purpose or share this data with participating where you have given consent. Where consent is given to share personal data with participating partners, this will be in processed in accordance with the privacy policy of the participating partner. Entry into this prize draw will be deemed as acceptance of this policy.

Acceptance of these terms and conditions and policies is required to enter the prize draw.

The Prize draw and rules will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Where the site and/or the Interactive Services are accessed from Scotland or Northern Ireland, this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Scotland or Northern Ireland respectively and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts or the courts of Northern Ireland respectively.
