Victoria Store

Our Victoria store has all you need to get out running or to replace those worn out shoes, shorts and shirts that you use on your daily run. So that we can provide the high level of service that we pride ourselves on, a shoe fitting (including gait analysis assessment) will usually take between 15 and 30 minutes. Please be assured, this is not a fitness test and you will only be required to run on a treadmill for a minute of the allotted time.

An appointment is not required, but please note that we can get busy at lunchtimes (between 12 and 2pm) so your patience between these times is appreciated. You are welcome to bring in your old pair of shoes so we can assess the wear patterns, however this is not essential.

How long have you worked at Runners Need?
Nearly 8 years.
Tell us about yourself:
I enjoy running and cycling and spending time with family/mates. Do dabble into adventure racing and might try a triathlon (Ironman) sometime in the future.
What are your favourite shoes to run in and why?
Depending on what terrain I am running on. If its the road/pavements then its the Adidas Adistar Ride for cushioning and comfort and for off-road it has to be the Adidas Adizero XT which has really good grip and comfort for the races that I do with them.
How often do you go running?
5/6 days a week.
Have you taken part in any marathons, challenges or races?
Tried the Comrades Marathon in South Africa which ended in a DNF. Also done loads of half marathons in South Africa. Cycle the Cape Argus once and looking to do that again sometime soon. In the past year have raced in two Queststars Adventure racing events which take from 1 day to 2 days. Also cycled in a race called Hell of Ashdown (the name says it all).
Are you taking part in any events this year?
Doing the Saab Salamon Turbo X in May and a cycle race at the end of May of which will be 75km. Planning on running the Great North and and Great South runs in the second half of the year.

How long have you worked at Runners Need?
Over a year.
Tell us about yourself
I'm passionate about movies. I love to write and blog about running, photography and technology. My love for running also means I get to eat a lot, so I'm often found in the kitchen when I shouldn't be there. I wash down my meals with copious amounts of red wine as I have been told that it is good for me.
What are your favourite shoes to run in and why?
When not running barefoot in the park, I wear Nike Structure. I've ran in Nike waffle racers, with limited success.
How often do you go running?
Every day without fail.
Have you taken part in any marathons, challenges or races?
I'll run any distance from 5k to a Marathon, as long as its not too hilly.
Are you taking part in any events this year?
I'll be running a few 5k and 10k races over summer, then building up to a marathon followed by a 50k ultra race at the end of the year.

How long have you worked at Runners Need?
18 months
Tell us about yourself
I love outdoor sports and fitness, running, hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding and capoeira, and I am studying to be a sports massage therapist. I also work as a freelance writer and blogger on film and culture, as well as doing freelance illustration and graphic design work.
What are your favourite shoes to run in and why?
I've recently been converted to minimal shoes and currently run in Nike Free 3.0s - the fact they have shifted my focus to strength and technique rather than just speed and distance has been brilliant. For trail runs my Adidas Kanadias work a treat.
How often do you go running?
Every other day, depends if I'm training. I mix it up with lots of cross training, strength work and stretching.
Have you taken part in any marathons, challenges or races?
I used to compete when I was younger, mainly 100m-600m sprinting, but now I do park and trail runs, as well as just running to keep fit, clear my head and enjoy the outdoors. I'd love to do a triathlon but have to get better at swimming first!
Are you taking part in any events this year?
I won't be racing in the coming months, as I haven't been able to train due to a knee injury. However, I'll hopefully be able to do some trail/adventure races this autumn/winter.
What's your favourite music to run to?
Anything upbeat with a good bass. I love running to music, and I'm really into a wide range of genres, so it's a huge mixture of mixes and tracks: drum and bass, techno, R&B, pop, dancehall and everything in between! Dance music works best. Sometimes though I just switch off and listen to the birds singing.

Tell us about yourself
In regards to sports I used to play hockey for England U21's, but now tend to stick to running and cycling as they are fun, good fitness and convenient when living in London. I also love snowboarding and surfing and get down to Devon or Cornwall as much as I can to make the most of what it has to offer.
What are your favourite shoes to run in and why?
I've been trying the Nike Free shoes, and building up my time in them. I'm a slight pronator so would usually go for a stability shoe but am training up my body and muscles to get used to the minimalist style, as I believe it is better for the joints.
How often do you go running?
As much as I can.
Have you taken part in any marathons, challenges or races?
I have completed a couple of Half Marathons, and aim to move this more towards duathlons and hopefully eventually triathlons.
What's your favourite music to run to?
Anything upbeat.
Do you have any relevant certificates or qualifications?
I have an MSc in Sports Therapy, so see injured athletes for treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. I am also a certified Kinesio taping practitioner.
