Discover the best runs from our Camden Store with Great Runs

London is one of the world's great running cities. Not only are there great parks and extensive waterfront paths, but there are important historical and cultural sites to take in as you run through the city. As such a unique and rewarding place to run, it’s hardly surprising that back in 1982, our founders decided to set up the very first store in Camden, a great place to run in the heart of the city.

Now 40 years later, we’ve got a growing portfolio of over 50 nationwide stores and more than eight million people training and racing on the road, track and trails with us. But no matter how far we’ve come, our heritage means London will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’re keen to share our passion for the city. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Great Runs, who provide runners with the best running routes in some of the world’s most iconic cities, to discover two fantastic runs on our Camden store's doorstep.

Regent’s Canal

The Regent’s Canal is a nearly 200-year-old waterway that links Paddington Basin and Limehouse Basin. Once a bustling hub for business, the canal path is now open for everyone to enjoy and is a great place to run.

The towpath runs alongside the canal for around 8.6 miles and offers pleasant canal views with only a few industrial sections. Winding its way through numerous London neighbourhoods and connecting several major parks and green spaces, it’s easy to up the distance to suit your training needs.

If you’re setting out directly from the Camden Town Store, you need to take Arlington Street or Camden High Street for 0.3 miles north to join the canal path. You can then run for half a mile west to the western end of the path at Regent’s Park or 8 miles southeast to Limehouse & the Docklands.

Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill

At 395 acres, Regent’s Park is one of the most famous Royal Parks in Northwest London and straddles Camden, making it the perfect place to head from the Camden Runners Need store. The park has plenty to offer, from glorious gardens to impressive sports facilities (including a running track), a boating lake, an Open-Air Theatre and of course, London Zoo.

To get your heart pumping, we suggest combining the splendour of Regent’s Park's outer circle path with Primrose Hill. You’ll be rewarded for your effort with spectacular views of central London from its summit.

But if you want to increase your distance or change things up, there are plenty of inner paths you can take through Regent’s Park, or you can even combine a run through Regent’s Park with part of the Regent’s Canal path.

If you’re heading out from our Camden store, Regent’s Park's Gloucester Gate is just 0.4 miles away, so is the perfect warm-up to get you on your way.
